Meet the Cast of “13”

19 of Kansas City’s brightest stars-to-be are featured in the KC professional premiere of the Broadway musical “13”

Allison Banks (Patrice) Spinning Tree: A Little Night Music. Allison is a sophomore at Lee’s Summit North High School. She studies acting with Nancy Marcy/The Coterie, voice with Lauren Braton and dance with Andrew Parkhurst. Previous credits include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (The Coterie), A Christmas Carol (KC Rep) and Peter Cottontail III (Starlight Theatre). Allison’s hobbies include reading and knitting, and she is very active within student leadership in Student Senate, FCCLA and Gender Equality Club. “In the future I plan on attending college and majoring in musical theatre and continuing performing throughout my life!”

Jake Bartley (Eddie) Spinning Tree: West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Violet. Jake is a sophomore at Olathe Northwest High School. He studies acting with Michael Grayman and Nancy Marcy/The Coterie, voice with Dr. David Yoss and dance with American Youth Ballet and Miller-Marley. Previous credits include Lyle the Crocodile (The Coterie), Narnia and Peter Cottontail III (Starlight Theatre) and 42nd Street and Bring It On (MTKC). Jake’s hobbies include ballet and wakeboarding. Future dream: “to get a degree in musical theatre and to have a successful career on Broadway.”

Jackson Berland (Ensemble, u/s Brett) Spinning Tree: Debut. Jackson is a freshman at Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kansas. He studies acting with Ric Averill/Lawrence Arts Center, voice with Vanessa Thomas and dance with Hanan Misko/Lawrence School of Dance. Previous credits include A Kansas Nutcracker, Avenue Q and Spamalot (Lawrence Arts Center), You Can’t Take it with You (Lawrence High School) and Starmites (MTKC). Upcoming: La Fille Mal Gardée (Lawrence School of Dance). His hobbies include riding his hoverboard, playing percussion, and playing video games. “Jackson aspires to perform on Broadway for a living and his backup plan is to be in product design.”

Jared Berlin (Brett) Spinning Tree: Debut. Jared is a sophomore at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. He studies voice with Cassie Banion. Previous credits include The Wolf in Into the Woods, Mr. Henderson in You Can’t Take it with You, and various roles in Story Theatre (Shawnee Mission Northwest). His hobbies include reading, writing and biking. “I hope to study otolaryngology throughout medical school and become an ENT.”

Janie Carr (Molly) Spinning Tree: Debut. Janie is an 8th grader at St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School. She studies voice with Donna West and dance at Miller-Marley. Previous credits include A Christmas Carol (KC Rep), Narnia (Starlight Theatre), Belle in Beauty and the Beast (Stage Right Performing Arts). Upcoming: Once on this Island (Stage Right). Her hobbies include basketball, soccer and tennis. “My biggest dream is to be in a successful Broadway show along experienced, talented and jubilant cast members.”

Callie Fabac (Ensemble, u/s Patrice, u/s Lucy) Spinning Tree: Fiddler on the Roof. Callie is a sophomore at Olathe Northwest High School. She studies acting with Michael Grayman and Nancy Marcy/The Coterie, voice with Lauren Braton and dance with Andrew Parkhurst and Evan Lovelace/Trilogy Cultural Arts. Previous credits include Children of Eden and Starmites (MTKC), Legally Blonde (Olathe Northwest) and Narnia (Trilogy Cultural Arts). Callie’s hobbies include creative writing and Olathe Northwest Forensics team (speech and drama competitions) and public speaking. “Callie hopes to successfully pursue a career that involves her passion for the performing arts.”

Jordan Haas (Simon) Spinning Tree: Debut. Jordan is an 8th grader at Delta Woods Middle School in Blue Springs. He studies acting with Nancy Marcy/The Coterie, voice with Vigthor Zophoniasson and dance at Miller-Marley. Previous credits include Oliver in Oliver! (MTH and Leawood Stage), Ragtime (Metropolitan Ensemble), Charlie Hildebrand in Street Scene (UMKC Conservatory Theatre), and as a national anthem soloist for the Kansas City Royals. Jordan’s hobbies include playing piano and percussion, forensics and golf. “Following college, Jordan hopes to stay in Kansas City and work in the medical field while continuing to be active in professional theatre.”

Darcie A. Hingula (Charlotte) Spinning Tree: Debut. Darcie is a 7th grader at Monticello Trails Middle School. She studies acting with Nancy Marcy/The Coterie, voice with Lauren Braton and dance at Miller-Marley. Previous credits include A Christmas Carol (KC Rep), Patrice in 13 (Barn Players Jr.), Shrek and Tom Sawyer (Theatre in the Park), A Little Night Music (Leawood Stage). Darcie’s hobbies include singing, playing ukelele and watching “Law and Order SVU” and “The Walking Dead.” “Darcie dreams to one day play Eliza or Angelica Schulyer in Hamilton.”

Joshua L. Holloway (Archie) Spinning Tree: Debut. Joshua is an 8th grader at Trailridge Middle School. He studies voice with Mindy Moritz and dance at CYT. Previous credits include Tom Sawyer in Tom Sawyer, Dr. Dolittle in Dr. Dolittle Jr. and Schoolhouse Rock Jr. (CYT), Archie in 13 (Immeasurable Productions), and Footloose (Stageworx). Joshua’s hobbies include Boy Scouts, off-roading and video games. “I hope to incorporate science and theatre in some way in my future.”

Katie Hulla (Ensemble, u/s Charlotte, u/s Cassie, u/s Molly) Spinning Tree: Violet. Katie is an 8th grader at Lakewood Middle School. She studies voice with Lauren Braton and dance at Miller-Marley. Previous credits include Peter Cottontail III and Aladdin (Starlight Theatre), The Music Man (MTH) and Joseph…Dreamcoat (New Theatre). Katie’s hobbies include cooking and competitive dance. “My dream is to perform in a national tour, and to strengthen my cooking skills.”

Holly Jackson (Cassie) Spinning Tree: Debut. Holly is an 8th grader at Westridge Middle School. She studies voice with Julie Danielson and dance at Miller-Marley. Previous credits include A Christmas Carol (KC Rep), Aladdin (Starlight Theatre), The Wiz (Theatre in the Park) and Starmites (MTKC). Upcoming: Downtown Disney performance with Miller-Marley Entertainers. Holly’s hobbies include creating music videos and mini movies with friends, arts and crafts and karaoke. Future dream: “to become a professional actress/performer starring in theatre, film and television.”

Cael Kuhn (Richie) Spinning Tree: Debut. Cael is a 7th grader at Holy Trinity Catholic School. He studies voice and guitar with Jessie Freyermuth. Previous credits include Oliver in Oliver! (Leawood Stage), Louis in The King and I (Metropolitan Ensemble) and Gavroche in Les Misérables (TCH). Upcoming: Simba in The Lion King at Holy Trinity. Cael’s hobbies include football, soccer and guitar. “He hope to continue to be involved in theatre, and also hopes to become a pilot.”

Sheridan Mirador (Malcolm) Spinning Tree: Debut. Sheridan is an 8th grader at Academie Lafayette. Previous credits include Artful Dodger in Oliver! (Leawood Stage), Coach Dunbar in Footloose (Barn Players Jr), and Eddie in 13 (Immeasurable Productions). Upcoming: Joseph…Dreamcoat and Sweeney Todd. Sheridan’s hobbies include writing, eating and reading. “My future dream is to win a Tony for a Broadway show I starred in!”

Emerson Pereira (Ensemble, u/s Kendra, u/s Molly) Spinning Tree: Debut. Emerson is a 7th grader at Pembroke Hill Middle School. She studies acting with Michael Grayman, voice with Melinda MacDonald and dance at Miller-Marley. Previous credits include A Christmas Carol (KC Rep), Peter Cottontail III (Starlight Theatre), Amaryllis in The Music Man (Camelot Academy), Jesus Christ Superstar (MTKC) and How to Eat Like a Child (Visitation Elementary). Upcoming: Annie Get Your Gun (MTH). Emerson’s hobbies include playing guitar, ukulele and piano. “Emerson hopes to fulfill her dream of moving to New York City someday.”

Fisher Stewart (Evan) Spinning Tree: Debut. Fisher is a freshman at Olathe Northwest High School. He studies acting with Nancy Marcy/The Coterie, voice with Melinda MacDonald and dance at Miller-Marley. Previous credits include Artful Dodger in Oliver! and Christmas Spectacular (MTH), Evan in 13 (Immeasurable Productions), The Pajama Game (MTKC) and Ren in Footloose (Stageworx). Upcoming: Madagascar (The Coterie). Fisher’s hobbies include sports and guitar. Future dream: “to perform on Broadway!”

Libby Terril (Kendra) Spinning Tree: Debut. Libby is a junior at St. Teresa’s Academy. She studies voice with Elaine Fox. Previous credits include Little Sally in Urinetown and Cinderella in Cinderella (CYT), Little Red in Into the Woods and Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (St. Teresa’s) and Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual… (Close Shave). Libby’s hobbies include choral singing (recent competitions in D.C. and L.A.) and playing ukulele. “Libby hopes to pursue the medical field to become a pediatric oncologist, and she plans to always be involved in performing as well!”

Jackson Tomlin (Ensemble, u/s Evan, u/s Eddie, u/s Malcolm) Spinning Tree: Debut. Jackson is an 8th grader at Trailridge Middle School. He studies voice with Mindy Moritz and dance at Miller-Marley. Previous credits include High School Musical and Eddie in 13 (Immeasurable Productions), Ren in Footloose (Stageworx) and Link in Hairspray (Trailridge Middle). Upcoming: Troy Bolton in High School Musical (Trailridge Middle). Jackson’s hobbies include singing, volleyball and drawing. “Jackson hopes to pursue his passion for theatre by performing on Broadway.”

Devyn Trondson (Lucy) Spinning Tree: Violet. Devyn is a freshman at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. She studies acting with Michael Grayman, voice with Lauren Braton and Jay Coombes and dance with Andrew Parkhurst. Previous credits include A Christmas Carol (KC Rep), Joseph…Dreamcoat (New Theatre), Annie in Annie Warbucks (Theatre in the Park) and 42nd Street (MTKC). Devyn’s hobbies include fashion and sewing, singing with a cappella group Intonation and Student Council. “Devyn looks forward to pursuing a career in musical theatre.”

Samuel Wise (Ensemble, u/s Archie, u/s Richie, u/s Simon) Spinning Tree: Debut. Samuel is a 7th grader at The Barstow School. He studies voice with Jay Coombes and dance with Erin Robertson/Miller-Marley. Previous credits include A Christmas Carol (KC Rep), Oliver! (MTH), Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast (Stage Right) and High School Musical and 13 (Immeasurable Productions). Samuel’s hobbies include playing basketball and baseball and travel, especially overseas. Future dream: “to become a professional actor/singer.
