Meet the Cast of “Amadeus”

Robert Gibby Brand (Antonio Salieri) Spinning Tree: Ghost Writer. Most recently seen in A Soldier’s Tale with Owen/Cox Dance, Emilie and The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail with Metropolitan Ensemble. A familiar presence on Kansas City stages, Bob has worked at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Unicorn, The Coterie, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, Quality Hill Playhouse and New Theatre Restaurant. He looks forward to I Do, I Do at the Chestnut Theatre and being the very model of a Modern Major General in The Pirates of Penzance at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City.

Walter Coppage (Emperor Joseph II) Spinning Tree: Black Pearl Sings! (directorial debut). Walter has performed with Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Studio Theatre DC, Kansas City Repertory, Kansas City Actors Theatre (founding member), St. Louis Black Repertory, The Coterie, Unicorn Theatre and Heart of America Shakespeare. Past roles include: MLK in The Mountaintop; Polonius in Hamlet; Stage Manager in Our Town; Marley, Fezziwig and Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol; The Miracle Worker; Radio Golf; Ruined; Much Ado About Nothing; Othello. Film and television work includes: Jayhawkers, James Ellroy’s Stay Clean, State of The Union, Truman.

Michael Reiser (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart) Spinning Tree: Debut. This is also Michael’s professional theatre debut, and he couldn’t be more excited that it is with Spinning Tree. Michael recently returned to Kansas City after completing his BFA in Acting at Missouri State University. Favorite credits include Nijinsky in the one-man tour-de-force Nijinsky’s Last Dance; Almost, Maine; Romeo and Juliet; and George in Our Town. He is represented by Talent Unlimited in Kansas City. Michael also acts as a fight choreographer for local theatre and film productions.

Jay Coombes (Salieri’s Cook, Kapellmeister Bonno) Spinning Tree: Debut. Jay has been active in Kansas City theater since 1984. He is a private voice instructor at Miller Marley School of Dance and Voice. Favorite roles include Max in The Producers, Nicely in Guys and Dolls, Edna in Hairspray, Beadle in Sweeney Todd and Ira in Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Thanks to Sonja and Liam for your support. Jordan Fox (Count Johann Kilian Von Strack) Spinning Tree: Debut. Jordan is a Kansas City-based actor who, most recently, portrayed Henry Thoreau in The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail (Metropolitan Ensemble). Among the other local theatres with which he’s had the pleasure to work: MeltingPot, Stuffed Buffalo Productions, StoneLion Puppet Theatre and Central Standard Theatre. This summer Jordan will make his Kansas City directing debut with Scott Myer’s Goat Song at the JOB theatre this June.

Megan Herrera (Constanze Mozart) Spinning Tree: West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof. Stephens College, B.F.A. Theatre Arts. Megan has worked locally at The Unicorn Theatre, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Musical Theatre Heritage, The Living Room, Egads!, Metropolitan Ensemble and Heart of America Shakespeare. Megan’s thrilled to be joining Spinning Tree once again for this incredible show with such a dynamic cast. Thanks to her family, friends, and the Amadeus family for all the love and support!

Teal Holliday (Katherina Cavilieri) Spinning Tree: Debut. Her previous work includes Ragtime (Metropolitan Ensemble) The Wiz (The Coterie) Hairspray (New Theatre). Teal will continuing training this fall at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York in their Integrated Conservatory Program for musical theatre. She is so happy and honored to be performing with Spinning Tree for her final show in Kansas City.

Peter Leondedis (Salieri’s Valet, Majordomo) Spinning Tree: Debut. Peter’s favorite roles include Flan in Six Degrees of Separation at Barn Players, Howie in Rabbit Hole, Fleming in Moonlight & Magnolias, and Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps at Olathe Civic Theatre Association. Peter performed several years in summer stock with Festival Playhouse in Michigan and studied improvisation at Second City and IO in Chicago.

Amber McKinnon (Venticello) Spinning Tree: Debut. Previous theatre credits include Once On This IslandSophisticated Ladies and A Mouthful of Birds. Amber holds a BFA in Drama from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She also trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Stonestreet Screen Acting Studios in New York City. Amber has appeared in numerous television commercials and print ads. Amber is thrilled to be in Spinning Tree’s production of Amadeus.

Andy Penn (Baron Gottfried van Swieten) Spinning Tree: Debut. Andy has appeared most recently as The Stage Manager in The Skin of Our Teeth and as Sam Staples in The Night Thoreaus Spent in Jail at Metropolitan Ensemble, and as Uncle Jack in Dancing at Lughnasa at The White Theatre. He received his BFA in Theatre Education from ASU and is forever grateful for the love and support of his daughters, Ashby and Caleigh.

Matthew Schmidli (Count Franz Orsini-Rosenberg) Spinning Tree: Debut. Matthew was seen most recently in the Kansas City Actor’s Theatre production of A Number. This summer he will be returning to Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre for a fourth straight season. He would like to thank Andy and Michael for this opportunity, the cast and crew for their professionalism, his parents and friends for their support, his kitty cats, and his lovely wife for always being there.

Shelley Wyche (Teresa Salieri) Spinning Tree: Debut. Local roles include: Spring Awakening and Our Town with The Coterie, Vincent in Brixton and Pride’s Crossing at Metropolitan Ensemble, and Romeo and Juliet and Henry V with Heart of America Shakespeare. Shelley graduated from Oklahoma City University and further trained in Chicago and New York City. She has just returned from London where she worked for an Applied Theatre company touring an original version of Hamlet. She teaches for both The Coterie and Pembroke Hill School.
