Allison is an eighth grader at Bernard Campbell Middle School where she plays violin in the orchestra, participates in the Concert Choir, and is an active member of Student Council and Student Ambassadors. Allison is also a member of The Coterie’s Master Class.



Devon Barnes headshotDevon Barnes (Mrs. Nordstrom). Spinning Tree: Debut. Devon is honored to join this amazingly talented cast and crew for her first Spinning Tree Theatre production. She was most recently seen as Scrooge and the Virgin Mary in The Fishtank’s hilariously irreverent Christmas show.  Some of her other KC credits include Pride’s CrossingSkillet TagThe MiserPride and Prejudice and the all-female cast of 1776. Originally from St. Louis, she was the featured soloist with numerous area symphonies, big bands and the Opera Theatre of St. Louis. Devon would like to give special thanks to Andy and Michael for their boundless grace and generosity.


Daniel Beeman headshotDaniel Beeman (Henrik Egerman). Spinning Tree: Debut. Daniel is a rising senior at UMKC. Favorite performances include Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, Betty Blue Eyes [U.S. premiere], and The King and I (Music Theatre of Wichita), Carrie: the Musical (Egads! Theatre Co.), Next to Normal (She&Her), the World Championships of Irish Dance, and many performances with the UMKC conservatory and the Omaha Symphony. So much love and gratitude to family and friends for their support and to Spinning Tree for the opportunity to be a part of this beautiful story.

Local credits: Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Coterie Theatre, Starlight Theatre, American Heartland Theatre, Unicorn Theatre, Quality Hill Playhouse, Musical Theater Heritage, Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre and Kansas City Civic Opera. Regional: Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre, Seagle Music Colony New York. She also stays busy with commercial and film work, and teaches private voice at Kansas City Young Audiences. Up next: Jazz in the Woods at Corporate Woods in June.

UnknownMelinda MacDonald (Desirée Armfeldt). Spinning Tree: Debut. Melinda most recently performed in All Sinatra with Quality Hill Playhouse. Kansas City credits include leading roles at Kansas City Rep, New Theatre Restaurant, American Heartland, Starlight and featured soloist for Kansas City Symphony Pops concert. In June she returns to Quality Hill Playhouse for their encore production of Rhapsody in Gershwin. She balances time between teaching private voice lessons, volunteering with Kansas City Young Matrons and pursuing other creative passions. She shares her life with “the furry quartet” – pups Laddie & Teddy and kitties Lucy & Leo. She shares the lint brush with her darling and very supportive husband Darold Frenzen.

Sarah is elated to be taking the stage with Spinning Tree. Since graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Missouri State University, she has been a part of a number of Kansas City productions. Most recently she was seen in Egads! production of Godspell. Favorite past credits include Ulla in The Producers, Judy Bernly in 9 to 5, and Sheila in A Chorus Line. Sarah would like to thank new hubby Taylor for his constant love and support in her crazy theatrical endeavors!

After graduating from UMKC, Zachary left for Chicago, taught and performed throughout Illinois, and is now very happy to be back performing, teaching, and working in Kansas City. Bob Wearing headshotBob Wearing (Mr. Erlanson). Spinning Tree: Debut. Bob was last seen in Bernstein's Broadway at Musical Theater Heritage. He recently graduated with a BFA in Theatre Performance from the University of Central Missouri, where his credits include The Drowsy Chaperone and The Shape of Things. Bob is so excited to be living in his new home, Kansas City, and sends his love to his Mom, Dad, and two brothers!

Cathy is a native of Kansas City, a graduate of The University of Kansas, and has worked as an actor, director and teacher for most of her adult life. Previous theatrical credits include The Importance of Being Earnest (American Heartland Theatre); The Music Man and 1776 (Musical Theater Heritage); Pride and Prejudice (Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre); The Outsiders (The Coterie); Company, A Little Night Music, My Favorite Year and Spring Awakening (The Barn Players); The Full Monty (Union Station); and Cabaret, Into the Woods, Driving Miss Daisy and Beau Jest (The White Theatre).

Vigthor Zophoniasson (Count Carl-Magnus Malcom). Spinning Tree: El Gallo in The Fantasticks and Tony in Master Class. Vigthor is a crossover artist performing in opera, musical theatre and puppetry. He has a busy performance schedule and runs a private music studio. Hailed by the Kansas City Star as "charismatic and charming" with a "flawless…upper register," Vigthor recently debuted with the Great Plains Theatre in Abilene returning to the role of El Gallo in The Fantasticks and with the Springfield Regional Opera in February 2014, performing Count Almaviva in SRO's production of The Barber of Seville. Vigthor actively performs with StoneLion Puppet Theatre as a core company puppeteer, juggler and stilt-walker. This summer, Vigthor will be performing a recital tour in Iceland.
