Spinning Tree announces auditions for CARRIE: The Musical. Please read all info before submitting for an audition.

SYNOPSIS | Based on Stephen King's classic horror novel CARRIE, this musical adaptation tells the haunting story of a misunderstood teenage girl with telekinetic powers. With powerful and emotionally charged storytelling, CARRIE: The Musical explores themes of bullying, isolation, religious fanaticism, and the explosive consequences of repression and cruelty. It's a chilling, poignant, and ultimately tragic tale of a girl pushed to the brink.

Due to the mature nature of CARRIE: The Musical, performers need to be 15 years of age by the first rehearsal.
The maximum age for performers is 18 or high school senior.
AVAILABLE ROLES
All roles are available. No roles are pre-cast.
CARRIE WHITE. A painfully shy outsider who's been the victim of her classmates' cruel jokes since childhood, as well as her mother's strict control at home. Vocal needs: lyrical sweetness and fierce power.
MARGARET WHITE. Carrie's mother, she balances her fervent religious convictions with equally sincere and tender maternal love for her daughter. Vocal needs: expressive and melodic to ferocious and frightening.
SUE SNELL. A popular, straight-A, level-headed student. Her participation in a cruel act of bullying causes a crisis of conscience that leads her on a journey to try to right things. Vocal needs: pop ballad voice with sweet sincerity and strength.
TOMMY ROSS. Sue Snell's boyfriend, a popular star athlete and valedictorian. Sensitive, a budding poet. Vocal needs: effortless pop quality.
CHRIS HARGENSEN. Rich, spoiled rotten, and wickedly funny. A popular beauty whose arrogant self-assurance makes her believe the rules don't apply to her. Vocal needs: pop rock, percussive, powerful.
BILLY NOLAN. Chris Hargensen's boyfriend. Now in his 6th year in high school, Billy's a dumb-like-a-fox bad boy whose wise mouth has led him to spend more time in detention than in class. Vocal needs: wailing rocker.
MISS LYNN GARDNER. The girls' P.E. teacher can be a strict disciplinarian if necessary, but is protective of Carrie. Vocal needs: warm and strong.

An accompanist will be provided. No a cappella singing or singing to a recording, and no on-site transposition.
